Third Party Fundraising

One of the ways United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties (UWWH) raises funds is through third-party fundraising. Third-party fundraising involves individuals, businesses, or organizations hosting events or campaigns. These events help us raise awareness and vital funds. However, third-party fundraising is where UWWH has no fiduciary responsibility and little to no staff involvement.

Third-party fundraising is a great way to support UWWH. It allows individuals and organizations to take an active role in the community and make a positive impact. Here are some tips for successful third-party fundraising for UWWH:

1.     Identify a need in the community: The first step in third-party fundraising is to identify a need in the community that we are working to address. It could be for a specific program or the general fund.



2.     Set a fundraising goal: Once you have identified a need, set a fundraising goal. This will give your campaign focus and help you track your progress.

3.     Choose a fundraising activity: There are many ways to raise funds for UWWH, such as hosting a benefit concert, organizing a charity walk or run, or holding a bake sale. Choose an activity that is appropriate for your audience and aligns with your fundraising goal.

4.     Contact UWWH to discuss your event and fill out the Third-Party Fundraising Event Application provided by UWWH.

5.     Promote your fundraiser: Spread the word about your fundraiser by utilizing social media, email, flyers, and word of mouth. Encourage friends, family, and coworkers to participate and donate. Remember that any promotional material with United Way of Wayne and Holmes branding must be approved.

6.     Collect and donate funds: Once your fundraiser is complete, collect the funds and donate them to UWWH. You can do this online or by mailing a check.

Remember that every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. Your third-party fundraising efforts will help United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties continue to support those in need in our community.
